Karen retired in 2017 after 37 years at Raytheon; she started her career in software development. Her final assignment was in corporate as a member of the Raytheon Corporate Evaluation Team (RCET). Prior to RCET Karen was an IDS Vice President / Deputy VP for a portfolio that included programs for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, Army, Air Force, Marines and department of Homeland defense. Previously Karen held a variety of technical and program leadership positions including: director for Future Naval Capabilities, leading the Raytheon team to successful Preliminary Design and Critical Design reviews for the Zumwalt Class Destroyer (DDG1000), Program Manager for Patriot Software / Systems Engineering, and Director of talent management, learning and organizational effectiveness. Karen graduated magna cum laude form Boston College. She and her husband Tim live in Bedford MA and have a second home in Newport RI.
