A number of my friends were in attendance when Bush visited Andover to thank Raytheon for the Patriot missiles that were taking down SCUDs. That visit was reported in the first link below, and the second link gets into some of the disagreement regarding the accuracy of the missiles. Both are interesting reading.
As we know today, nearly 30 years later, PATRIOT has been an extremely successful system, still selling well, and representing a sizeable profit to Raytheon’s bottom line.
